Lori N. Winkler

Dr. Winkler grew up in nearby Winters, Tx. Growing up in a rural home, she always loved animals, but was inspired to become a veterinarian after seeing her local veterinarian attend to her injured horse. She worked as a kennel tech, then as assistant in veterinary clinics while getting her education. She attended Tarleton State University, then completed her DVM degree at Texas A&M university in 2003.

She worked as a mixed animal practitioner for a year before moving to San Angelo and transitioning to small animal medicine. She joined Southside Animal Hospital in 2004. She enjoys building relationships with clients and patients while providing compassionate, quality medical care for pets. Her interests include preventive care, internal medicine, and improving mobility and comfort in older patients.

She and her husband Davy are blessed with one son. The family also has a very energetic dog. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Winkler enjoys spending time with family, cooking, reading, puzzles, games, watching movies, and photography.
